Philosophy

     My goal for each client is that you are able to realize a brighter future on the other side of your divorce or family law matter. Any legal process, but especially one involving the most private details of one’s life, is immeasurably difficult. Your children, your finances – the stakes are high, and knowing that can be overwhelming. I strive to be a compassionate, trusted and skilled resource who can help you chart a path forward. 

    I believe in being a thorough and detail-oriented advocate, carefully analyzing every aspect of your case to ensure that your interests are fully protected. Whether it’s negotiating fair child custody arrangements, dividing assets equitably, or evaluating support-related provisions, I bring a meticulous, numbers-savvy approach to help you make informed decisions that will shape your future. I am especially comfortable navigating any financial complexity of a case, whether it involves equity compensation, valuing a business, private investments, trust interests, international discovery, or tracing assets. 

     I take my role as a counselor and advisor very seriously and think of my relationship with clients as partnerships. It is important to me that clients feel informed throughout the legal process and that they understand, as best they can, their interests, rights and obligations under the law. I value educating and empowering clients so that they feel prepared to make decisions after considering the impact on one’s children and one’s finances.

     Over my many years of practice, I have developed a network of professionals to support you both during and after the legal process concludes. These include financial advisors, business valuation and forensic experts, appraisers, mortgage brokers, accountants, insurance agents, and mental health professionals. My clients are ensured that they will have a supportive team to shepherd them through this process. 

     My goal is to obtain positive results for you whenever possible through resolution, using a measured, restrained approach to litigation. I believe that the best outcomes for clients (and their children) are most often obtained through advocacy outside of a courtroom, whether via direct negotiation with counsel or in a mediation or conciliation process. Still, litigation is sometimes unavoidable, and I am equally comfortable advocating for my clients in a courtroom at all stages of a family law case from initial hearing through trial. I will advocate on your behalf firmly but tactfully. 

       Outside of family law litigation, I am pleased to serve as a neutral. I accept Discovery Master and Special Master appointments from the Court. I also serve as mediator or conciliator in family law matters. Reaching resolution through cooperation and collaboration sets parties on a path forward that is often more positive for all involved. I am happy to participate in this effort.
